Banks in Bulgaria have raised the limit on fee-free money transfers by mobile phone number. Up until now, blink p2p transfers – where available – were free for amounts up to 100 BGN (about 50 euros).
The Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) and Investbank, however, have increased that limit to 300 leva. Borica told Economic.bg that the limit will also be raised to that amount at United Bulgarian Bank in the coming days (currently it is 100 leva).
TBI Bank will not charge fees up to BGN 500. DSK Bank – up to BGN 10,000.
As part of a promotional drive until the end of June, UniCredit Bulbank will provide fee-free cash for up to BGN 30,000, and First Investment Bank - up to BGN 10,000.
Seven banks in Bulgaria provide the service developed by Borica. It became more popular last year when a campaign was launched to promote it.
They were fee-free last year, and this was expected to continue this year.
A check by Economic.bg at the beginning of the year showed that some banks had not yet adjusted their rates and had not updated their terms and conditions on their websites. The apps of some of the banks contained a message that there would be a fee for this transfer, even though none was charged.
In the first days of January though, First Investment Bank began charging a fee.
