tbi bank and UNWE organized the Talent Academy - dataXperience
Over 50 students participated in the educational initiative
tbi bank, in partnership with the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), organized the dataXperience Academy. This initiative is a continuation of the cooperation agreement between the two institutions and aims to inspire and support young talents in the field of data science, providing them with real-world case studies, internship opportunities at the bank, and scholarships to continue their studies at the university.
Over 50 students from the "Computer Processing and Data Analysis" and "Data Analysis with Specialized Software" university majors participated in the academy. They learned about the daily life and challenges in the field of data analysis through lectures by Sinan Turkmen, Head of the "Data Management Solutions Laboratory" department, and Madlena Dalkalatcheva, Chief Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Officer at tbi bank. The lectures included interactive quizzes where the three students with the highest scores won vouchers for online educational courses.
At the end of the talent academy, the students went through a practical case study related to analyzing inflation data in Bulgaria. The best representatives received an invitation to an open house at the TBI Bank headquarters, where they met with a diverse team of professionals in the field of technology and data analysis.
During the closing ceremony at the university, tbi bank awarded the two students who had the highest scores from the academy with scholarships to continue their education at the UNWE, while two others will begin a six-month internship at the bank with the potential for long-term development within the organization.
The dataXperience Academy is not just a talent development program – it is a way to invest in the future of the banking industry. With it, we prove that when business and academic institutions join forces, we can create a new generation of technology leaders who will be the pulse of the financial sector. As a challenger bank, at tbi we believe that people development is the engine of our success. Therefore, we will continue to support talent and encourage innovation to build a better future,” commented Denis Brodsky, Senior Vice President, People and Culture, at the bank.
Prof. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice-Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies at the UNWE was happy about the first educational format implemented together with one of the most innovative banks in Bulgaria.
"From the beginning to the end of the Talent Academy, the student group stayed unchanged, which means that they have withstood all the challenges, and have accumulated sufficient knowledge, skills and experience. I am sure that they are satisfied with the Academy, and that there will be new editions," she stated.
