Resistance to Chinese imports: The Bulgarian company Solar Panel EOOD will make its products from 100% European materials

The Bulgarian company Solar Panel EOOD will produce solar panels from "100% European materials" at its plant in Omurtag. The automated line was built by the Italian manufacturer of components for solar installations Ecoprogetti and has a capacity of 250 MW, the company explained to Economic.bg.

We learned about the investment in March when the company received a class "A" certificate for the project. The new production plant is in Preslav and a total of BGN 7.35 million will be invested in it, as was announced back then.

This innovative plant is not only the first of its kind in the country but also sets a new standard in terms of technological progress and commitment to sustainability in the Bulgarian solar industry," added the Italian company reps.

This is achieved thanks to the advanced level of plant automation. Each stage of the production process is optimized to ensure maximum efficiency and precision with as little labor as possible. The machines supplied to Solar Panel are of the highest level of automation, with modern methods for full traceability and production monitoring, the company says.

Designed to produce high-efficiency solar panels suitable for both residential buildings and solar parks, the new production line incorporates the latest solar cell technologies and materials suitable for both PERC/PERT and TOPCON technologies.

The all-electric laminator sets the production line apart from its competitors, especially those that rely on conventional manufacturing methods, allowing the company to provide a product warranty of up to 30 years on the modules. The line is quickly filling its full capacity with an expected production of about 1,400 panels per day or about 30,000 panels per month.

Although the production scope is small, the announcement represents another step towards affirming the European production of components for photovoltaic installations. Ecoprogetti is based in Italy with offices in the Philippines, India, the US and the UAE and claims its production equipment is "100% made in Europe".
