Glavbolgarstroy and Siemens Energy have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focusing on large strategic projects in Bulgaria and the region. The document outlines the possibilities for future partnership between the two companies in the energy sector.
The agreement was signed during an official ceremony opened with a welcoming speech by the German Ambassador to Bulgaria, H.E. Irene Maria Plank. She highlighted the long-standing economic ties between the two countries and the role of Siemens Energy, which has over 45 years of presence in the Bulgarian market.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Konstantin Kisev, Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy CEO of Glavbolgarstroy International, and Andreas Schmidt, Vice President of Siemens Energy. With this act, the companies declared a commitment to work together on key energy projects.
During the event, Ambassador Plank recalled the successful modernizations carried out by Siemens in Bulgaria and emphasized the company's future role in the construction of Units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy NPP.
I am convinced that Siemens Energy, with its proven experience, will significantly contribute to the realization of this historic project - Bulgaria's largest investment to date. Strong local partnerships and suppliers are key to the competitiveness of the industry and a stable energy future," said Ambassador Plank.
Glavbolgarstroy was selected by the Federal Government of Germany for the construction of the new building of the German Embassy in Sofia. The new diplomatic representation is already operational, and the company is currently working on the demolition of the old building, applying innovative methods for selective demolition and recycling of construction waste.
