“Security is an investment, not an expense,” said Lidija Stolica, President of the Croatian Security Association, at today’s opening of Adria Security Summit 2026, Southeast Europe’s largest security industry event. The international conference and exhibition at Zagreb Fair brings together more than 3,000 participants from around the world, including security professionals, manufacturers, distributors, system integrators, and representatives of the public and private sectors. Organised by security industry magazine a&s Adria, the two-day event combines a conference programme, technology showcases, and business meetings to share knowledge and experience, connect participants, strengthen security, and develop business partnerships.
Adria Security Summit connects professionals, companies, and end users, creating opportunities to exchange knowledge and experience. Our region is home to outstanding individuals and companies, and this event gives their work greater visibility while opening the door to new business relationships. Speaking directly with visitors and understanding their needs is an essential part of that process. Through expert discussions and the sharing of different experiences, we want to address the industry’s challenges and explore solutions that can improve professional practice. Bringing together people, knowledge, and real market needs is what gives this event its purpose,” said Mahir Hodžić, Chairman of the Adria Security Summit Organising Committee.
The Croatian Security Association has been a partner of Adria Security Summit since its inception. “This event means a great deal to our profession because it brings together experts, new technologies, and a comprehensive programme of presentations on a scale we rarely see in Croatia. We will discuss legislation, technological innovation, and shared challenges, with one common goal: to put security first,” said Lidija Stolica, President of the Croatian Security Association. She added that new technologies bring both opportunities and threats, making it essential to keep pace with change and take preventive action. She noted that Croatia follows European standards, but that joint efforts are needed to improve the adoption of new technologies and raise public awareness of their importance.
Now in its eleventh edition, Adria Security Summit focuses on current challenges and technological developments in the security industry. The programme covers physical security, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, artificial intelligence applications, smart technologies, and fire safety. The exhibition gives participants the opportunity to explore products and solutions from international and regional companies, while expert presentations and business meetings provide opportunities to exchange practical experience and establish new partnerships.
The programme continues tomorrow, 8 October, with a second day of conference sessions, exhibition activities, and business meetings. The final day will offer further opportunities to discuss the security sector’s needs and prospects for collaboration, concluding with the presentation of the a&s Adria Awards 2026, which recognise achievements and innovation in the security industry.
