Bulgaria's largest oil producer buys Romanian factory
Argus is one of the oldest vegetable oil producers in northern Romania

The largest producer of crude and refined sunflower oil in Bulgaria, Oliva AD, through its subsidiary Bildkom EOOD, plans to acquire a majority stake in the Romanian vegetable oil producer Argus Constanta.
The Romanian investment company Infinity Capital Investments has signed an agreement for the potential sale of its entire stake (91.42%) in Argus. The deal also covers the shares that Argus holds in another joint-stock company, Comcereal SA Tulcea.
The finalisation of the agreement is subject to regulatory approvals from the Romanian authorities. The share price will be determined by adjusting the amount of EUR 14,500,000 – the agreed value of the company. Preliminary calculations indicate a share price of approximately 1.85 Romanian lei. Based on this indicative valuation and considering the size of Argus' majority stake, the deal is expected to exceed €10 million, according to Profit.ro.
Argus is one of the oldest vegetable oil producers in Romania. The company was founded in 1943 in Constanta, nationalized by the communist regime in 1948, and transformed into a joint-stock company after 1990. Today, its main activity is the production and trade of crude and refined sunflower oils and fats, feed meals, and fatty acids.
Bildkom EOOD was established in 1994 and is engaged in international trade in agricultural products – wheat, corn, barley, peas, rapeseed, and sunflower.
