Fikret Ince: Together We Can Achieve Much More
Bulgaria should no longer be seen as a place with cheap labor

Fikret Ince is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alcomet AD. In 1999, after a privatization deal, he acquired a majority stake in Alumina, now Alcomet. In 2002, he bought the shares of Industrial Holding "Bulgaria" and became the majority owner of the company. Fikret Ince has more than 40 years of experience in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and in the management of companies in this industry.
Mr. Ince, you created Bulgarian-Turkish industrial chamber. What is the potential in bilateral cooperation?
I am convinced that together we can achieve much more than on our own. In the spirit of the National Assembly’s slogan "Strength is created through unity" and deriving from the multiplier effect in economics – Combining a number of separate factors leads to a larger mutual growth. By combining the potential of both countries, much more impressive results can be achieved.
You have the ambition to make Shumen an industrial center of Northeast. How could this be achieved? What has your experience thought you?
Establishing Shumen as an industrial center of the Northeast is a task comprised of many aspects which requires a systematic approach, preparation of professionals, providing labor and last but not least – investments. Up until now my experience has shown me that each of these elements requires continuous efforts and patience. We do appreciate the support of Shumen Municipality for the implementation of this process.
How are you expanding the market borders of Alcomet? How could we expand the boundaries of thinking and how could we create prosperity for the people through industry?
In modern times we call that being a visionary. Every person is part from the whole. Аnd through our work we are creating value. Both for us and for the common well-being.
You say that the time when investors came to Bulgaria because of the cheap labor is over. Why?
Those
who intend to do business here should provide decent living wages to their
workers . Bulgaria should no longer be seen as a place with cheap labor. Good
social packages must also be offered to workers. There will be a labor force if
people get good rewards.
